Hello everyone! The library and I are eagerly awaiting your return. It's a little lonely in here right now; just the books, the magazines, and me. We're busy getting all of the boring stuff out of the way, like dustnig the shelves and fixing torn pages, so that we'll be ready for the fun stuff when you arrive.
Be sure to drop in the first week of school and tell me all about your summer, including any great books that you read. I just finished The Throne of Fire, the second book in Rick Riordan's Kane Chronicles series. If you enjoyed the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, you might want to try this new series featuring a brother and sister who discover that the ancient Egyptian gods are very much alive. Book one, The Red Pyramid, is here in the library waiting for you.
You'll notice a few news things in the library this year. We have a special new rack of "quick reads" for when you want something short and sweet. We'll be putting our creative heads together to come up with a library mascot. And of course, there are the new books.
